Our Team

Tom Axtell

Tom is the President of Lexington Plumbing. He is the third generation of the family business and has been managing the Service Department for the last ten years. Tom is a Master Plumber and licensed in all of the municipalities in the Metro Area.

Wes Hotze

Joining Lexington Plumbing in 2007, Wes brings with him over 10 years of industry experience. Wes has worked on projects ranging from high-rise commercial buildings and medical hospitals, to industrial facilities, municipalities and single tenant remodels. His experience with design build projects allows for accurate cost analysis and value engineering at early stages of a project. He currently holds plumbing licenses in Kansas City, MO, Independence, MO, Wyandotte County, KS, Johnson County, KS, and Lawrence, KS. Wes has successfully completed OSHA 10 Hour Training, OSHA 30 Hour Training, Confined Space Training & Rescue, and Trenching & Excavating. His current duties involve executive management of the construction department, estimating, and project management.

Dan Axtell

Currently serving as Chairman of the Board, Dan brings more than 40 years of experience to the team. His past experiences range from journeyman plumber to project management, estimator to CEO. Dan sits as an advisory board member of United Missouri Bank. He has also served on the boards of both the Mechanical Contractors Association of Kansas City and the Plumbing Contractors of America. Dan has served as Chairman of the Joint Apprenticeship Committee and as a trustee of both the Local Health & Welfare and Pension boards.

Don Lawhon

Don is a third generation plumber with over 35 years experience and has been with Lexington Plumbing since 1988. Don has worked as a journeyman plumber and advanced to foreman on several construction projects. He has been estimating work and managing projects for over ten years with experience in all phases of the plumbing industry. Don is a licensed plumber with certifications in medical gas systems, backflow preventers, water heating, natural gas piping systems, water distribution and waste piping.

Cindy Hansen

Cindy is a graduate of the University of Iowa. She relocated to the Kansas City area and began with Lexington Plumbing in 2006. Cindy is the CFO and manages the accounting department.

Ian Walters

Ian Benjamen Walters is experienced plumbing professional with over 15 years in the business and is known regionally for his professional approach to every job. He joined the Lexington Plumbing team in 2014 and is committed to maintaining the company's strong reputation as an industry leader. Ian has gained valuable technical experience working on complex commercial and residential projects, starting as a journeyman plumber and advancing to foreman and superintendent. He has managed many multi-million dollar projects throughout Kansas City, and for the past 6 years has been mainly committed to cost estimation and workflow management for corporate and individual clients. Ian is knowledgeable in all phases of the plumbing industry including: backflow preventers, central domestic mixing valves, water heating, natural gas piping systems, water distribution, budgeting preventative maintenance and waste piping. Ian is a proud partner with the AAKC and a member of the MCA.

Shona Farrell

Joining Lexington Plumbing Shona brings over 8 years of accounting and budgeting experience. Shona’s responsibilities in the office include accounts receivable and billing. She also schedules services calls and maintains customer service.

Jeff Deason

Joined the Lexington Team in 2017 bringing along 20 years of industry experience. Jeff brings with him a very diverse background ranging from residential, commercial and industrial with a strong emphasis in Healthcare and manufacturing. Certifications and Affiliations include licensed Journeyman, med gas certified, backflow certified, OSHA 30, KCAAE, ASHE. Has worked and managed many multi million dollar projects, requiring large crews with very aggressive schedules.

Jessalyn Sadler

Jessalyn is a graduate of the University of Saint Mary and UMKC, and brings 10 years of customer service experience. Jessalyn's office responsibilities are accounts payable and receivable. She also schedules service calls and maintains customer service.

Mike Lowe

Michael has been in the plumbing industry since he was 18 years old, almost 30 years. For approximately 20 of those years he was a foreman, and superintendent. He has experience with working on and running projects from service, residential, commercial and industrial. From waste water treatment plants, industrial waste systems, to the remodel of someone’s house.

Tim Miller

Tim joined Lexington Plumbing in 2020 with over 17 years of experience. He has worked on and managed many different types of projects in his career including high-rise buildings, multi-family complexes, restaurants, and tenant improvements. He is educated in the trade having completed a 4 year apprenticeship program and holds a Master Plumber license In Kansas City, MO.

Brian Byfield

Brian joined the Lexington team in May 2021. He grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015. He has 4+ years working in construction adjacent industries. Brian oversees the daily and weekly service schedule and assists other team members in project coordination.

Tim Swigart

Has worked 18 years in varying aspects of the trade including both service and new construction of residential, commercial, and industrial piping. He is a licensed Journeyman with certifications in med gas, backflow, and OSHA 30. Tim joined our team in 2014 and has taken on several of our larger project through the years before coming into the office to assist with estimating and managing of projects.

Levi Bernard

Levi joined Lexington Plumbing in 2016, bringing with him 15 years of invaluable excavation experience gained from solving a wide range of problems in the field. Since joining the team, he has combined his excavation experience with his plumbing knowledge and now manages Lexington Plumbing’s underground utilities department. His expertise runs the gamut, from large design build projects, vacuum excavations, utilizing boring equipment, grease trap replacements, preventative maintenance of sanitary and grease systems, ductile iron piping replacements, backflow and vault replacements, copper water services, sanitary sewer systems, gas distribution, pool leak detection and repairs, water features and domestic/ private leak detections. Levi has grown significantly since starting as an apprentice and is now a licensed journeyman plumber and, ultimately, project manager. He is certified in backflow prevention, medical gas, OSHA and septic systems.
